According to forbes.com the top 5 highest paid models of 2014 are Gisele Bundchen with a model salary of $47Mln; Doutzen Kroes ($8Mln);  Adriana Lima ($8Mln); Kate Moss ($7Mln) and Kate Upton ($7Mln). How did these women made it to the top and how are they discovered?

Research on the internet learns us that different stories exist about their discovery, in this blog I will try to find the closest story to the thruth. What can be learned from these women is that they all are hardworking and ambitious to reach the top. It is interesting to learn that almost all supermodels had ambitions in sports at an earlier age. Read below the discoveries of the five highest paid supermodels of 2014.

Gisele Bundchen ($47Mln)

Gisele Bundchen was born on July 20 1980 in Brasil. Her dream was to become a professional volleyball player. At the age of 13 she attended with her sisters a modelling course. One year later she was discovered in a shopping mall from where she was selected for the National Elite model look, she became second. This contest led to be placed for the world contest to be held on Ibiza, here she became fourth. Her modelling career was born and in 1996 she moved to New York.

Doutzen Kroes ($8Mln)

On January 23, 1985 Doutzen Kroes was born in Eastermar the Netherlands. In her early years she wanted to become a professional speedskater. Doutzen was discovered by Paparzazzi Model Management at the age of 18. She was discovered when she sent in pictures of her on a sailboat. She hoped for a summerjob to get some money, however from that moment on a supermodel is born.

Adriana Lima ($8Mln)

Adriana Lima was born on June 12, 1981 in Salvador, Brazil. At school she had a friend who wanted to enter a modeling contest however she did not wanted to enter alone, therefore Lima entered with her. Both sent in pictures, and the contest sponsor soon asked Lima to come out for the competition. Soon after at the age of 15 she won Ford’s supermodel of Brazil competition and become second at this world supermodel competition.

Kate Moss ($7Mln)

Kate Moss was born on January 16, 1974 in Croydon, England. She is discovered at the age of 14 by Sarah Doukas, founder of Storm Model Management. Her big breakthrough began in 1992 when she appeared with Mark Wahlberg in Calvin Klein ads, one year later she is in her first cover shot for Calvin Klein’s Obsession ad Campaign.

Kate Upton ($7Mln)

Kate Upton was born on June 10, 1992 St. Joseph, Michigan, the United States of America. In her early years she showed at the American Paint Horse Association and competed at a national level with her horse Roanie Pony. Her modelling career started at the age of 16 by attending an Elite Model look casting in Miami, where she was signed by them the same day.  When she turned 18 Kate moved to New York and was eventually signed by IMG Model agency. She became world famous when in 2011 she was on the cover of sports illustrated swimsuit issue.
