The book of Halcombe in The New York Times and Halcombe in New Jersey

THE BOOK OF HALCOMBE IN THE NEW YORK TIMES AND HALCOMBE LIVING IN NEW JERSEY

We ended our job at Yorkdale Center, Toronto. What an impressive mall and how great this Holiday Inn Hotel was. I spent the last hours of our stay at the gym and at the swimming pool before heading to the airport.

In order to have our luggage checked in, we had to enter plenty of information about ourselves. So much information we provided, authorities knew in advance everything regarding our life and trip to the United States. This was useful information such as the address of our hotel, our job or our hometown. What is more, they charged us for our suitcases even though we already had the plane tickets fully paid.

Toronto´s Pearson airport is so modern they do not need too many waitresses. In fact, you order your food and beverages through a tablet. In consequence, the cooker knows your choices directly.

THE BOOK OF HALCOMBE IN THE NEW YORK TIMES

My American editorial told me I was going to appear in The New York Times. They were going to send me a document reproducing it because I live in Spain. The funny thing is though, I was just going to the United States, hence I could buy the newspaper.

The Sunday edition is so big that might kill my dog if I leave it on his head. However, my appearance was no so impressive insofar as I did not have the cover. In real terms and talking seriously, my book “the adventures of Halcombe Norilsk and other gripping tales” appeared in a literary supplement called Sunday Review alongside other books. I bought the newspaper nonetheless and I it made me happy, yet I doubt over the real impact of this appearance.

After having completed everything authorities requested plus having my shoes off we were in the United States. One of my colleagues wanted a cool picture, but one of the security guards came with an angry face. At least, the flight Toronto-Newark was a comfortable one.

HALCOMBE IN NEW JERSEY

Sooner than later we had our luggage and everything with us to continue our journey. We took a taxi which has carried us to a town called Freehold, inside a county with the name of Monmouth.

I have discovered that one of the best artists in the history of rock and roll, Bruce Springsteen, was born here. It is fabulous to discover such issues. Nonetheless, our job has nothing to do with rock music. As a matter of fact, I must translate and Zara will open a new store nearby, in a beautiful place called Raceway Mall, Freehold, New Jersey. This is my new home.
